"Go through out the whole world and preach the Gospel to all mankind "(Mk16:15). The Congregation of the Mother of Carmel planted as a mustard seed on 13th Feb.1866,sprouted and spread out its branches and took its roots beyond the boundaries of Kerala and made an entry into the North East, India. Responding to the missionary mandate of the Lord, CMC set her foot on 28th Jan.1966 to the land of North East, a land of rich cultural diversity and natural beauty. It was a milestone in the history of CMC, Jayamatha Province, Pala on which four sisters began their journey towards an unknown land of Manipur for their missionary task. The sisters ventured into various fields of apostolate, enduring every hardships and struggles with unswerving missionary zeal and faith.

As the years passed, the Lord added the number of houses and members. Henceforth, CMC in North East spread her tiny wings and sowed the seeds of the Gospel to the far corners of North East India. Thus the Sanjonians selflessly renders and caters her services to the states of Nagaland, Manipur, Assam ,Kerala and Arunachal Pradesh working in the dioceses of Kohima, Imphal, Tezpur, Guwahati, Diphu, Itanagar and Pala. At present, Sanjoe province has 28 houses in 7 dioceses and one in Germany. There are 138 Senior members and 42 junior members out of which 104 are local sisters of the land. They are involved in different apostolic activities like Education, Healing Ministry, Evangelization, Family Apostolate and Mass Media in different parts of North East. Sanjoe marches forward firmly, trusting on the divine providence to guide and protect her ,presenting herself as a faithful and useful instrument to God. May our BL. Mother assist and guide us in all our humble attempts in spreading God's love.
